Tummy Troubles: Relieve Your Pain Today
As embarrassing as it may be, everyone will suffer with tummy troubles at some point in their lives. This is often due to us eating the wrong foods (or too much of it!) and consuming things that our bodies don’t agree with. In this article, I’m going to give you some ways of relieving your pain.
If you regularly experience heartburn or acid reflux, it might be down to the food that you’re eating. Of course, if you’re pregnant you can expect heartburn, and it’s likely to go away once the baby is born. Try eating food that isn’t greasy or acidic to see if that relieves any of your symptoms. Sometimes though, heartburn and acid reflux can be a warning sign of an underlying problem, so be sure to visit your Doctor if changing your diet doesn’t relieve your symptoms.
Bloating is a very common complaint for many people. It often happens when you’ve eaten too much, or have consumed a lot of fizzy drinks. The symptoms of bloating in this case usually go away by passing wind or burping, and don’t require anything to help relieve the feeling. If though, you’re experiencing constant bloating, you could try drinking skinny tea which has been known to relieve symptoms quickly.
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a very unpleasant symptom for everyone who experiences it. If you’re not sure if you’ve ever had it, it’s a stomach condition that causes severe cramps, watery stools or sometimes constipation. There are lots of different things that can cause IBS too. Stress plays a big part in triggering IBS. When you’ve had a stressful day, if you’re experiencing any of the above symptoms regularly, then it’s likely that you’ve got IBS. It’s a digestive problem where your stomach is either struggling to digest the food you have eaten, or it’s passing through your body too quickly. Unfortunately, it is a lifelong condition, but many people don’t suffer for their whole lives, and there are ways of relieving the symptoms too. Speak to your GP about what you’re experiencing and they will be able to recommend what you do or what medication you could take to relieve the symptoms.
Trapped wind is another stomach problem that many people experience. Although it is very much like bloating, it can be caused by different things. Like bloating, you can give yourself trapped wind by eating too quickly or guzzling down soda, and then the gas struggles to escape from your body. Unlike bloating, trapped wind often comes with a pain in mid stomach, that gives no relief until the gas has been released. A hard blow to the stomach if you fall can also give you trapped wind. To relieve these symptoms, try burping or passing wind, or take some over the counter medication. Your pharmacist will be able to advise you.
If you’re stomach is regularly in pain or uncomfortable, it’s always best to see your GP. Remember though, that eating a healthy diet and staying away from too much alcohol will do the world of good for your stomach.
